Effects of stalking

As research, i even looked at the types of effect stalking has on the victim. Through my previous research I really liked the idea of the girl sitting on her desk reading all the letters she received from her stalker... So i decided to build on this, and experiment with a few filters on photoshop and see if they work good with the type of effect i am trying to create. Below are some images I manipulated for this.

Here is an image of my model looking quite depressed and concerned about what the stalker has sent her. The papers in this image shows the different notes and letters she has received from the stalker. They are not hand written as he wants to hide his identity. In this image I firstly desaturated the green background, and then made the contrast quite high to make it look a lot more effective.

Through my film noir research i discovered the femme fatal look. This look was very interesting as it let me concentrate on both the effect the effects the stalker is having on the victim, but also her looks and the sense of danger behind them. This is why I made my models lips quite bright and made them stand out to the rest of the image, i even made her skin tone quite desaturated, so the audience can concentrate on her attractiveness, making us seem like stalkers too, and then gradually build up to see how she is not happy about something.

Lowered the ofter and exposure to half
A Blue cooling filter added.

I experimented with the lighting and exposure in this image to make it look quite sinister and cold. I wanted to make the audience feel what the "victim" must be feeling in this image. I feel the lighting and colours really change the way something is being shown and interpreted. For example, in this image you can clearly see that the girl is quite upset and something quite horrible has happened.

Desaturate
Apply mid tone contrast
maximise highlights
High contrast
Low brightness

Here I wanted the image to look quite dark yet clear. I used mid tone contrast to make the girl look quite depressed and ill. whereas i used other things to just make the image look quite sharp and dark.

Glowing edges

The original image for this is above on the right.
I thought this was quite a good effect and it looked quite artistic and good. The glowing edges effect was quite interesting to work with as it gave a sense of mystery to the image, and only showed the important outlines of the image which is quite good effect if you want to distort something. However, the only problem i had with this image was that it wasn't very to the point, and did not link to my project too well.
