Make up

For this mini project i decided to focus on make up. However, i decided to make these images look very exagerated and un natural/ non glamourous. This is because of the primary research I looked at, where people said that too much make up can make people look really bad. Or the use of too much make up can damage ones face due to the toxins make up has in it.
I also looked at how people want to look like celebrities and exagerate their looks according to that too.
The following pictures show this but in a very exagerated way.

This photograph shows how a girl wants to look like a celebrity, and how this can affect the way she looks and acts. This would act as man made taking over nature as it shows that people are not perfect, but they use other options to be perfect.
The caption in this image says "I want to look like Britney Spears" this goes with my idea of the girl wanting to look like someone else. I really like this image becuase of the use of props and make up. However, the ones below are a lot more effective than this one.

I especially like this photograph because of how the enhanced colours make the image look very attractive, yet sends a very sinister message accross. The caption "no one can take my pride away" shows that women are very self conscious, and through my research i could see that a lot of girl said they wear make up to gain self confidence. This image shows exactly that. The tiara shows her pride, and confidence, and becuase she is wearing make up and this tiara, she is confident no one can take this pride away.

For this image, i decided to go for an opposite meaning from what my other two pictures show. This picture shows that she is upset about putting on so much make up, and she is devestated by the result of being so man made. However, the other images show that she is happily putting the make up on to try and be someone she is not.
For this image, i used the caption "they told me i would look beautiful" by "they" i am refferring to all the people that advertise make up products and the media itself. I wanted to show that being so man made can make very horrific results.

For this image i gave my model the opposite of what the caption says. "i want plump lips, blue eyes, gorgeous skin, and curly hair" I did this to show that people try being someone else with the use of make up, however, they do not often get these results, and make up is not the right solution for everything.
I like this photograph becuase the angle of the camera makes the image look quite out of propertion, which is a very good effect to have for an image like this. I also like how the skin looks very damaged becuase of the amount of make up she puts on.
