Digital Manipulation

By this I mean anything that has been changed through the new media or digital technology. This can mean anything from taking the photo itself, and photography to things being edited to look man made. These ideas are all explored in detail below.

Photography

I thought photography itself was a way of manipulating the way we see things/people naturally. This can mean anything from capturing the right moment to change the way people see things, and chaging the lighting, angle and setting to delevop the impression you are trying to get accross. For example, a low angle photograph of a person may make them look superior, however, the same photograph taken at a high angle may make him/her look more inferior.

Photoshop

Photoshop is one of the largest and most popular software used to manipulate images. They can be made to make someone look better, and more appealing to look at, or even something very disturbing to look at out of a scratch image. Photoshop is so famous at what it does that it is now used as a verb rather than a software name, example: "I might photoshop that". Even thought it is against the permission and trademark guildance of Adobe to use the words in such manner, people still tend to use it.
Below are a few images I have created and put together that show how a normal image has been manipulated to make it look more attractive to the eye.

Here as an experimental attempt I have taken a picture of myself, and then edited it on photoshop to make it black and white, changed the brightness and contrast, added my name in the corner, and then highlighted parts of the image to make it look "better" and more professional.
Below I have also created a tryptic using this image and edited the images to make them go together and enhance the way it looks.

Here I have made all pictures black and white and used a lasool tool to select a few details in the image and keep the original colour for it. then i used the brightness contrast tool to make the image in high contrast.
